Kurt C. Treu, President of U.S. Bank in Northeast Ohio and Regional Chairman covering Northeast and Central Ohio, is the new Board Chair of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland (CVB). His banking career spans 24 years, 15 of which have been with U.S. Bank and its legacy, Star Bank and Firstar.



“In Kurt Treu, the CVB has found an agent for change. He comes at a time when this organization is expected to be more, to do more, and to display more relevance,” says Dennis Roche, CVB President. “As a native Clevelander, he is committed to our success. As one who has lived elsewhere, he knows what a great destination Cleveland is. As a businessman, he knows what constitutes success and how success is realized. Kurt’s enthusiasm is contagious. We are looking forward to his leadership.”



In addition to the CVB, Treu is also serves on the following boards: Cleveland State University Foundation Board, Cuyahoga Community College Foundation Board, United Way, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Providence House and Playhouse Square Foundation. He is also a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2006.



Treu will serve as CVB Board Chair for 18 months, with his term ending at the end of 2008.
