The First Annual Hospitality Law Conference will be held on Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Conrad N. Hilton College, located in the Hilton Conference Center, at the University of Houston. The conference is designed for general counsel and executives of lodging, restaurant and club operations; safety & security directors; legal practitioners in the hospitality industry; and hospitality law faculty.



The conference was jointly developed by:

  • Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association

  • The Loss Prevention Management Institute

Stephen Barth, attorney, associate professor at the Hilton College, and founder of HospitalityLawyer.com, is co-chairing the conference along with JeAnna Abbott, attorney and associate dean at the Hilton College.

Afternoon attendees will have the option of attending breakout sessions in the following areas: food & beverage legal issues, lodging legal issues, and safety & security. Participants can earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit, education credits for the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).
