Founder of Leading Travel Research and Consulting Firm Underscores Spa Finder’s Mission to Help Spas Connect With Booming Online Travel Market.
Spa Finder, Inc., the global spa resource, has announced that Philip Wolf, founder and CEO of PhoCusWright Inc., a leading travel, tourism and hospitality research firm, has joined its board of directors. Mr. Wolf, an expert in travel distribution strategy and technology, will bolster Spa Finder’s aggressive efforts to help spas and resort/hospitality properties with spas connect with the rapidly-growing number of online travel consumers seeking a spa component to their vacations and business trips.
Spa Finder has made it a priority to usher spas into the online travel revolution, said Spa Finder, Inc. CEO Pete Ellis. Our new Spa Distribution Network is the first online tool that lets travelers use dynamic packaging to book complete spa vacations, including airfare and car rental. This spa travel tool is also available to online travel agencies and portals, and we’re excited to have the benefit of Mr. Wolf’s experience and guidance as we continue to help spas capitalize on the online travel market and online travel companies tap into the booming demand for spa travel.
Wolf, who founded PhoCusWright Inc. in 1994, serves on several company boards and is an adjunct professor at New York University`s Graduate Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management. He has served as an expert witness and has lobbied Congress on industry-specific issues and is quoted frequently in consumer and trade media including CNN, Business Week, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
Prior to PhoCusWright, Mr. Wolf was president and CEO of Travelmation, a venture-funded software developer and travel booking engine pioneer, later sold to Rosenbluth International. He first entered the travel commerce arena in 1989 as head of a small agency.
