Art Technology Group, Inc. (ATG) announced that Six Continents<.> Hotels, Inc. has selected ATG Commerce to enhance scalability, the precision of its targeted marketing campaigns, and personalization for the company’s network of Web sites. Six Continents Hotels’ assets include the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites hotel brands, and the Priority Club Rewards program.



Six Continents Hotels selected ATG Commerce to ensure that its sites will continue to meet the demands and expectations of consumers using the Internet as a source for researching and booking travel arrangements. By leveraging the flexibility and scalability of ATG Commerce, Six Continents Hotels will be able to implement a phased deployment and respond quickly to future changes in market demands without having to endure downtime and multiple re-launches of its entire network of sites.

In selecting ATG Commerce as the platform for its commerce site, Six Continents Hotels will be able to create more valuable relationships with present and future customers, said Victor Cheng, senior director of strategy and business development, ATG. Six Continents Hotels has recognized the importance of scalability and has chosen a solution to help it meet the growing demands of the marketplace.



In a recent report, Forrester Research indicated that it expects online hotel bookings to more than double over the next four years from $3.8 billion to $7.7 billion. Already, the report states, travel is the number one activity among Internet consumers.
