VisitBritain launches second funding round for DMCs and inbound tour operators

The fund is open to DMCs and inbound tour operators who can develop and market new British itineraries, with a focus on driving tourism across the year and across more of Britain.

VisitBritain has announced a second round of funding for Destination Management Companies and inbound tour operators to support in driving bookings to Britain.

The £450,000 Destination Management Company (DMC) and Inbound Tour Operator Amplification and Distribution Fund is open to eligible DMCs and inbound tour operators to apply for grant funding to develop and market tourism to Britain, working with international tour operators to dial-up promotion in their 2023 programmes.

The fund is open to DMCs and inbound tour operators who can develop and market new British itineraries, with a focus on driving tourism across the year and across more of Britain, and incorporate these in to the 2023 sales effort of international tour operators in the fund’s target markets. The markets include Australia, Europe, the Americas, the Gulf Co-operation Council markets, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea.

VisitBritain Chief Executive Patricia Yates said: “We are delighted to announce this second grant funding round, in response to a clear ask from the industry, to support DMCs and inbound tour operators drive bookings to Britain in 2023.

“As well as building back inbound visitor spending we want to broaden travel itineraries, boosting inbound visits across more of the year and across more of Britain, supporting local businesses, destinations and economies.”

Britain-based DMCs and inbound tour operators who meet the qualifying criteria can apply for individual grant awards of about £40,000. Applications are now open with applicants having until 15 December to apply for activity to run from February to June 2023.
