Vizergy joins industry leaders in earning digital certification

Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International 's Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer Program experiences continued growth.

McLEAN, VA. – The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) announced Vizergy, a leader in the digital travel marketing sector, is providing funding for its entire client services team to pursue and earn HSMAI’s most recent certification, the Certified  Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM).

HSMAI’s certification program continues to expand as Vizergy joins a number of companies, including Marriott International, Inc. and Best Western International, Inc. in encouraging and providing means for their employees to further their knowledge of the rapidly evolving digital space and to earn HSMAI’s accreditations.

“We applaud Vizergy for becoming the first digital marketing agency to make a commitment to have its entire client facing team certified with our CHDM offering, and we are thrilled another industry leader has so enthusiastically voiced its support for the program,” said Fran Brasseux, executive vice president of HSMAI. “Skills in the digital space are now key to success in this business, and continued support from industry partners like Vizergy, Best Western and Marriott further validates the CHDM program as an important piece of ongoing education.”

The HSMAI CHDM program, which launched in 2012, has piqued the interest of hundreds of hospitality sales, marketing and revenue management professionals, digital marketers and hospitality industry executives through its three industry-targeted sections, making the digital certification directly applicable to those in the business wanting to sharpen their digital marketing expertise.

“Digital marketing is sophisticated, and the disparity in knowledge between marketing companies and some hotel companies seems to be the cause of miscommunication and differing expectations,” said Joe Hyman, Vizergy president & CEO. “If we create a standard knowledge base and skill set, we will also produce more visibility and revenue for properties. Our entire client facing team will earn HSMAI’s CHDM certification in order to ensure we continue to provide the best service and results in our industry.”

The CHDM program sections include: Digital Marketing Impact; Strategy and Tactics; and Analytical, Productivity and Management Tools. Topics covered include mobile marketing, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), public relations, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and social media, among others.

“HSMAI’s CHDM certification is a step in getting all of us on the same page,” Hyman added. “It’s terrific for digital marketing providers and property level teams to communicate at a higher level.”
