Westfield and Hudson Group unveil retail revamp at JFK Terminal 8

Seven redeveloped Hudson shops, new Victoria's Secret enhance American Airlines terminal.

NEW YORK – Eight new shops – including Victoria’s Secret and seven renovated Hudson locations – are now open at John F. Kennedy International Airport‘s Terminal 8, announced airport retail terminal developer Westfield and premier travel retailer Hudson Group. The redeveloped shops are part of the 51,000-square-foot retail and dining collection at the American Airlines terminal.

“As a major gateway to New York City and the world, Westfield is proud to partner with American Airlines to provide their passengers with a first-class experience at Terminal 8,” said Dominic Lowe, Executive Vice President, Westfield. “Together, we’re committed to JFK and to continually enhancing the overall experience to reflect the style and spirit of New York.”

Featuring a marketplace with healthy snacks and common design elements such as vibrant lighting and a modern color palette, the seven redeveloped Hudson locations include a Euro Cafe/Hudson on the pre-security Arrivals Level, with the remaining shops located beyond the security checkpoint to conveniently serve travelers near their gates. A 2,069 square foot Hudson flagship greets travelers just beyond the security check point. A notable addition to the lineup is a 3,226 square foot shop near Gate 42 which houses a Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts.

As ‘The Traveler’s Best Friend,’ our goal was to redesign our core concept Hudson News to create a more open, friendly and welcoming environment for travelers. We have accomplished this mission through whimsical, color-coded signage to attract customers’ attention to our four distinct selling areas: Media, Marketplace, Essentials and Destination. Greatly enhanced sales of healthy snacks, grab-and-go foods, authentic souvenirs and a wide range of electronics gear and accessories have resulted in rave reviews from customers and our landlords, along with improved revenue for the airport wherever the new concept has been opened.”

Located post-security near gate 8, the new 1,021 square foot Victoria’s Secret shop offers an assortment of the brand’s popular beauty products, including prestige fragrances such as the Iconic Bombshell and newest fragrance, VS Angel. The shop’s unique collection of accessories is ideal for those looking for travel-sized gifts, including a wide range of bags, luggage, and sunglasses.

Managed by American Airlines, JFK’s Terminal 8 opened in 2005. 1.58-million-square-foot-facility is home to 29 gates with capacity to serve 12.8 million passengers per year.
