Wirecard is the first payment provider for African Airlines Association

The strategic alliance with AFRAA opens up many advantages for Wirecard, such as access to the network of African airlines, work in committees to define industry standards and participation in congresses and association meetings.

MUNICH – Wirecard AG, a specialist for payment and risk management solutions, has joined the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) partner program as a full member with immediate effect. As a result, the Munich-based company is the first payment service provider in the world to join the AFRAA network.

“We want to offer our association members clarification, and to provide them with an end-to-end network of innovative partners. Wirecard is the first payment service provider to complete this offering for our members,” commented Dr. Elijah Chingosho, Secretary General of AFRAA.

Jorg Moller, Executive Vice President Travel & Transportation with Wirecard, is confident: “Joining the AFRAA partner network gives us optimum access to the high-growth African market. Many African carriers are currently expanding their online presence in order to meet the growing demand. We can support this step as a global payment provider with end-to-end industry expertise.”

The strategic alliance with AFRAA opens up many advantages for Wirecard, such as access to the network of African airlines, work in committees to define industry standards and participation in congresses and association meetings. As part of the 45th AFRAA Annual General Meeting in Mombasa, Kenya (November 24-26, 2013), Wirecard will inform airlines of its products and services for payment processing and risk management. Wirecard is already Payment Service Provider to many African airlines.
