Wizz Air launches two new services to Maastricht and Hurghada

In addition to Wizz Air’s continuous growth, Budapest Airport’s extensive expansion of its route network has resulted in the airport experiencing a passenger traffic boom in the first quarter of the year.

Budapest Airport celebrated the commencement of two new routes with home-base carrier Wizz Air; a twice-weekly service to Maastricht on 15 May, and a weekly link to Hurghada on 16 May. These new services add to the airline’s 2015 summer schedule at Budapest, which already includes new services to Lisbon, and increased flight frequencies to popular destinations such as Milan Malpensa, Barcelona and London Luton.

In addition to Wizz Air’s continuous growth, Budapest Airport’s extensive expansion of its route network has resulted in the airport experiencing a passenger traffic boom in the first quarter of the year.

Recording Q1 growth of +12.6%, Budapest leads the way by some margin in Central Eastern Europe versus Vienna Airport’s -2.8%, and Prague Airport’s +3.5% for the same period. The Hungarian gateway is far above the EU gross average of +5.1%
