Yapta powers airfare price-tracking services for direct travel clients

Direct Travel to monitor airfare price changes and capture immediate savings for customers.

DENVER and SEATTLE – Direct Travel, Inc., one of the top travel management companies in the U.S., and Yapta, a leader in airfare and hotel price tracking services, have announced an agreement to make Yapta’s Intelligent Price Tracking technology available to all Direct Travel corporate customers. After a successful launch with select clients, Direct Travel has now made the price tracking solution available to all customers.

Direct Travel clients that utilize Yapta’s FareIQ product will be able to automatically monitor travel itineraries for drops in airfare prices and then rebook flights at lower prices to reduce corporate travel costs.

“The dynamic pricing and yield management systems used by travel suppliers make it very difficult for today’s corporate travel managers or their business travelers to secure the best available price,” said Darryl Hoover, Chief Technology Officer for Direct Travel. “By partnering with Yapta, we’re able to assure our clients the very best price on all air bookings by identifying when prices drop and quickly acting on the opportunity to rebook and save.”

Companies adopting FareIQ, Yapta’s airfare price tracking solution, see an opportunity to save on more than 11 percent of all air itineraries, with an average identified savings of $260 per ticket. Any savings identified by FareIQ on behalf of its customers are over and above any airline-imposed change fees and agency re-booking fees, ensuring customers see true value to their bottom line.

Yapta also provides Direct Travel clients a web-based savings dashboard, making it possible for them to observe their airfare tracking program on a 24/7 basis. Utilizing the dashboard, travel managers can quickly identify important pricing trends across airlines, key markets, and class of service. They can also compare negotiated and public fares, and capture valuable insight on refundable and non-refundable fares, void window savings, and both domestic and international flights. Data is summarized by supplier, by origin and destination, and by top markets.

“Airfare price monitoring is a best practice that corporate travel managers and TMCs must be exercising as part of their program,” said James Filsinger, President and CEO of Yapta. “Direct Travel is now equipped with the most comprehensive and effective airfare monitoring solution in the travel industry, opening the door to significant savings for its clients. We look forward to serving the companies that work with Direct Travel and helping them achieve the most value for their travel dollar.”
