LONDON – Your Golf Travel publicises a new golf-friendly easyJet route to Essaouira with a VIP event in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office.
With the 1st of May launch of an easyJet service from Luton, Essaouira is a hot new Moroccan destination for Your Golf Travel and it chose Hanbury Manor, a Marriott resort located just 15 miles from the airport, to present the destination to a group of golfing VIPs. Society leaders, golf media representatives and professional golfers were among the 50-strong audience as the leading golf tour operator was joined by representatives from Morocco’s National Tourist Office.
Your Golf Travel has an existing programme of golf holidays in Morocco focused on Marrakech, Agadir and Casablanca but the twice weekly (Friday and Monday) departures from Luton make Essaouira a viable option for golfers based in England’s South East. The winners of the event at Hanbury Manor, Peter Laws and Mark Rumbul, will find out first hand when they enjoy the first prize: a golf holiday at the Sofitel Essaouira Resort including golf and return flights.
For the company’s Head of Product Marketing and Strategy, Euan Gillon, the support of the national tourist board is vital: “Without the help of MNTO, we wouldn’t be able to go to such lengths to bring the destination to life in front of an audience like this. The launch event was also attended by MNTO’s UK Director, Amine Boughaleb, who said that “the UK golfing community is an important target for the Moroccan golfing industry that has been deploying substantial efforts to position Morocco as one of the most promising destinations on the golf map. With over 30 golf courses across the country, and 10 additional ones under construction, the country is on the right path to becoming a wonderful golfing playground where it is easy to find the elusive sunshine. We know that Essaouira has a superb golf offering and, with the launch of the new Luton service, we felt there was a need for us to work with a reliable partner to introduce it to the right audience. Flights to Essaouira from Luton begin on 1 May 2015 and are bookable either at easyjet.com or as part of a golf travel itinerary via Your Golf Travel. Friday and Monday flights create the opportunity for 3, 7, 10 or 14-night stays.
