The ceremony took place on board the company’s Variety Voyager on February 23, 2023.
ATHENS – The co-founder of Variety Cruises, Mr Dimitris Vassilakis, has been appointed Honorary Consul of Lithuania. In a ceremony on board the company’s flagship Variety Voyager, and under the presence of Greece’s Minister of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy Mr Giannis Plakiotakis, Lithuania’s Minister of Internal Affairs Ms Agne Bilotaite, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Greece, Ms Lina Skerstonaite and other respected delegates.
“This is a great honor for me personally but also for Variety Cruises,” said Mr Vassilakis. “Our relationship with Lithuania has always been a strong one and we are working towards an even stronger one between the two countries.”
“We are extremely proud of Mr Vassilakis and we are confident that he will succeed in his new role,” said Variety Cruises’s CEO Filippos Venetopoulos. “This is a great moment for Variety Cruises also, as community building is at the core of the company’s DNA as we always strive to Go Deeper into the communities we visit, and we look forward to exploring ways in which we can build more bridges with Lithuania and its people.”
