A detailed analysis of 2,384 reviews written by safari-goers and international safari experts has determined the 50 best safari parks on the continent. And the winner is Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, which is Africa’s top safari park for 2024.

SafariBookings.com, the online marketplace for African safaris, conducted its annual study to determine the 50 best African safari parks for 2024. For the fifth consecutive time, Serengeti National Park in Tanzania was the clear winner, which will be no surprise to safari enthusiasts. The Serengeti received an overall rating of 4.85 out of 5, which was significantly higher than every other park.

A total of 1,239 reviews were contributed to the study by safari tourists from 74 countries. The remaining 1,145 park reviews were written by renowned international safari industry experts, including guidebook authors working with Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Frommer’s, Bradt Travel Guides and Footprint.

The Serengeti is the poster child for the East African safari. This vast park, one of Africa’s largest, has an astonishing array of wildlife that ranges across landscapes and habitats of singular beauty. The annual migration of 2.5 million wildebeest and zebra through the park captures much attention, and rightly so, as one of nature’s grandest spectacles. But the Serengeti is a remarkable destination year-round, even when the herds move on.

The Serengeti’s fifth successive victory as Africa’s best safari park is a remarkable and thoroughly deserved achievement. This is especially the case given the high standard of competition in Tanzania and farther afield – across East and southern Africa.
