Europe-wide statistics online

The Brussels-based European Travel Commission (ETC<.>) is currently developing a new platform for the exchange of Europe-wide tourism statistics, in collaboration with the Austrian Natioal Tourist Office.

The Tourism Marketing Information System (TourMIS<.>) online database, will provide the platform for the exchange of tourism data between all 30 ETC member countries.

TourMIS can be accessed free of charge at www.austria-tourism.at/tourmis TourMIS will offer all Internet users the possibility to consult incoming tourism data from all ETC countries in either English or German. This will allow members of the industry to examine specific issues.

'With this new service for its members and the tourism industry ETC is taking another big step in the field of modern communications technologies, said ETC executive director Walter Leu.
