Greece is ranked ninth in the European Union in hotel reservations with an average of 72,3 percent together with Malta, according to a study conducted by Country Trends 2000 that was publicised in the English journal Travel Trade Gazette. According to the same study, Holland topped the list with a figure of 77,8 percent and following this was Sweden with an estimated 77,1 percent. According to the study, France was said to have the most costly hotel rooms, while Russia and Turkey still offer travellers cheaper rates.

The report combined with an already existent need to pressure travel agents even further to urge their clients to make earlier hotel bookings, is just another reason for travellers to become even more prompt and informed as to their hotel reservations. And this on account of much competition in the travel industry market in terms of prices as well as other prominent factors.
