Greek citizens make two, or more trips annual, spend 200-300,000 Drs

At least 83 percent of Greek citizens conduct one trip annually while as much as 72 percent conducts two or more, than the usual summer holidays, according to a recent study which was presented a short while ago. The study, which was directed by "Kapa Research", and was conducted for the "Tourism and Economy" Magazine and was presented at the Tourist Panorama<.> 2001 travel show at the end of April 2001. Moreover, the study was made after polling both men and women from 801 homes in an around the Attica basin.



According to the findings:



1. At least 54 percent of those polled said they conducted at least one to two pleasure trips a year, while some 28.4 percent declared they took at least three to four pleasure trips annually.



2. Some 62.9 percent answered that they do not travel abroad, while some 66.5 percent said that in the year 2000 they made at least one trip within Hellas borders.



3. The largest exodus, or people taking pleasure trips, according to the study, is generally marked during the Easter and Christmas holiday period.



4. According to the same findings, some 29 percent of those asked said that two weeks are sufficient in the summer time so that they can dedicate time for their annual vacation. While some 18.5 percent said that they conducted one month's worth of holidays.



5. The poll also pointed out that at least 24.9 percent said that while vacationing they spend at least 100,000-200,000 Drs., while some 25 percent said they spend anywhere from 200,000 to 300,000 Drs. and 11.5 percent stated that they spend some 300-400,0000 Drs.



6. A whopping 30.8 percent of those polled said that they stay at hotels, 27.4 percent answered that they rent rooms and 51 percent said that they remained at friends or family during their stay.



7. At least 3,3 percent of those polled said they thought Greek travel and tourism services were very sufficient, while 40.1 percent stated that the services were mediocre and a whopping 46,5 percent referred to them as just fair.
