West European travel

A total of 326 million trips abroad were made by Europeans aged 15 and over last year, according to IPK International, a Munich-based research<.> firm. Some 64 percent of these were for holidays, while 19 percent were strictly business. Of these travelers 46 percent used airlines as their mode of transportation. Some 42 percent sought sun and sea vacations; 14 percent enjoyed 'city breaks', and 13 percent preferred touring.
