AirPlus now offers Google Pay to customers

More and more payments are being made by mobile. With Google Pay, corporate payment specialist AirPlus International now offers its customers another option for mobile payments: AirPlus Corporate Card users are now able to pay their expenses on business trips conveniently and securely using their Android devices, whether in hotels, restaurants, or cabs.

LONDON – In the UK, Google Pay is now available to all AirPlus Corporate Card users with a compatible Android device. From the end of May, AirPlus Corporate Card customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy and France will also be able to use Google Pay.

Conveniently contactless and simple to set up

Payment with Google Pay is contactless: the customer simply holds their smartphone or smartwatch up to the reader and does not have to hand over cards or cash or touch any buttons.

Google Pay can be set up in just a few steps. On the Android device, users are able to add their AirPlus Corporate Card to Google Pay via the AirPlus Mobile app. Alternatively, the AirPlus Corporate Card can be added directly in the Google Wallet app according to the instructions.

Safe and secure

Payments with Google Pay are always encrypted – before, during, and after every purchase. It does not share actual card numbers either, so payment information stays safe.

“With Google Pay, we offer our customers another method of mobile payment and thus now support mobile payments on all popular smartphones and mobile devices with immediate effect,” says Paul Spelman, Managing Director of AirPlus International UK & Ireland. “The share of mobile payments is growing rapidly as they are seen as particularly secure, convenient and hygienic. Many of our customers already know and appreciate mobile payments from their private lives and have also requested this option for business transactions. We have responded to this request and are pleased to make their experience on business trips even easier and more modern.”
