One month after the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, the travel industry is poised to make a recovery, according to the CEO of one of the world's largest lodging reservations services. The business and the entire travel industry were certainly affected by last month's acts of terrorism, according to CEO of All-Hotels, Jane Karwoski. She said that in the last week or two, we're starting to see a recovery as visits to our site and bookings have been slowly increasing. Traffic to All-Hotels' web site was down more than 30 percent in the week following the attacks, but has recovered since then, now off around 10 percent from the week prior to the attacks. Bookings have shown a similar upward trend. Karwoski said there are no easy solutions to the current situation, and hoteliers should prepare for a state of uncertainty about the economy and travel for a long period of time.
