Chain4Travel announce the successful launch of Camino blockchain

Ralf Usbeck, CEO Chain4Travel

Chain4Travel has launched Camino Network as new operating system for the global travel industry.

ZUG, SWITZERLAND – Chain4Travel announce the successful launch of Camino, a network based on blockchain technology specifically designed for the global travel industry. As independent validators and technical pioneers, the first major travel companies are already live on the Camino Network. This innovative infrastructure is available to design and implement new service approaches for the travel industry using the capabilities of the next generation internet.

The Camino Network is freely accessible to travel companies and technology providers. More than 120 international travel businesses have already joined as supporters and are actively supporting developments on Web3. Ralf Usbeck, CEO of Chain4Travel explained: “The launch of the Camino Network is a key milestone for the global travel industry. The opportunities presented by blockchain technology will enable new service approaches that were previously unthinkable. We are thrilled that so many well-known companies are already on board as validators and look forward to shaping the future of the travel industry together with them.”

Based on blockchain technology, new possibilities for personalization, interactions, and exchange of products, services, and information are enabled in every scenario: B2B, B2C as well as transactions between travelers with each other. All travel stakeholders can efficiently exchange services and information using simplified processes. The first applications built upon Camino by various travel companies will include a trading platform for travel products, services, and vouchers, an online travel portal, and an application for simplified sharing of microservices with hotel guests, along with many more.

The soft launch of the Camino blockchain follows a phased approach: In Phase 1, the first travel companies came online. These include major brands such as FTI Group, Peakwork, Schauinsland Reisen, and TUI. The validation nodes of these partners are now ready to make the first transactions on the network. Phase 2 includes a further security layer in the form of live testing, where the network will be tested again under real conditions with these selected partners. As part of Phase 3, more partners will go live on the network.

Cybersecurity experts, Hexens, have successfully completed the security audit and certified Camino as having a solid security standard. Furthermore, a long-term Bug Bounty Program is also up and running, where software experts worldwide are called upon to identify and report any security vulnerabilities on Camino. Bounties are offered in US dollars and in Camino Tokens (CAM) for reporting bugs.
