Integration syncs Minut properties and Nest thermostats to automate heating and cooling.
MALMO, SWEDEN – Minut, leading provider of smart property monitoring solutions, has announced it has integrated with Google Nest, enabling property managers to significantly lower energy bills and carbon footprints by remotely managing heating and cooling across their short-term rental portfolios.
The partnership delivers a more seamless property management experience, allowing Minut users to manage their Nest thermostats from anywhere in the world – saving time, reducing transport costs and lowering emissions.
The integration supports Google Nest Thermostat, Nest Thermostat E and Nest Learning Thermostat, enabling property managers to automate heating and cooling systems so they switch off as soon as guests check out while still maintaining set safety temperatures.
Property managers can also synchronize their check-in and check-out schedules with Property Management System (PMS) or Airbnb integration, allowing for automatic thermostat adjustments that ensure guests always arrive to a comfortable temperature.
Katrin Humal, Product Manager at Minut, said: “At Minut, we recognize that it is part of our responsibility to promote sustainability within the short-term rental industry. By integrating with Google Nest, we’re enabling property managers to cut energy costs and streamline operations, supporting both eco-friendly practices and financial savings while ensuring a comfortable experience for guests.”
Key features of Minut’s integration with Google Nest include:
- Energy savings: Automatically turn off heating or cooling between stays, significantly reducing energy bills and operational costs.
- Enhanced guest experience: Prepare the property for guest arrival by turning on heating or cooling three hours before check-in, ensuring guests arrive to a comfortable environment.
- Environmental impact: Support sustainable practices by reducing the overall carbon footprint associated with property management.
- Automation and convenience: Simplify property monitoring through automation, especially when integrated with PMS systems, managing multiple properties at the push of a button.
The Google Nest integration is available now within Minut’s Pro+ package, along with Minut’s best-in-class noise and smoke monitoring, smart lock integration and advanced reports to help property managers run their businesses effectively and sustainably.
The latest partnership comes after Minut set a new precedent in intelligent energy management for the short-term rental market by integrating with European smart thermostat manufacturer, Tado, in 2022.
Recognized for its innovative, privacy-first approach to property monitoring, Minut’s new partnership with Google Nest cements the platform’s commitment to providing seamless, sustainable, and efficient property management solutions for the global short-term rental market.
The integration means Minut and Google Nest are paving the way for a new era of intelligent, energy-efficient property monitoring and management. Property managers and hosts can now enjoy the benefits of cutting-edge technology on their own scale, making their operations more efficient, sustainable, and guest-friendly.
