CAS Trips’ white paper highlights the CAS Project Challenge’s global impact, engaging over 6,000 students in sustainable development, featured on the UN’s Tourism4SDGs platform.
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC – CAS Trips announces the release of its comprehensive white paper detailing the significant global impact of the CAS Project Challenge (CPC). This initiative, which empowers students to address local and global challenges through sustainable development projects, is highlighted in the newly published white paper, showcasing the initiative’s growth from a localized activity into a worldwide movement driving positive change.
The CAS Project Challenge (CPC) was initially designed as an immersive, on-trip activity for students participating in CAS Trips. However, recognizing the potential for broader impact, CAS
Trips expanded the program globally, allowing students from around the world to participate in the CPC online. This expansion aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) and was recently accepted to be featured in the UN Tourism’s Tourism4SDGs Initiative.
Global Reach – Over 6,000 Student Participants
Since its launch in 2018 through 2023, the CPC has engaged 6,494 students and 397 teachers from 45 countries. In 2023 alone, over 2,000 students from 31 countries participated in the
on-trip CPC, reflecting the program’s universal appeal and adaptability. The global online CPC has seen 151 diverse projects submitted.
Simon Armstrong, Founder of CAS Trips, says, “The CAS Project Challenge is more than just an educational program; it’s a movement that empowers young people to think critically about
the world around them and take meaningful action. We’re thrilled to see how students have embraced this challenge and are making a real difference in their communities.”
Featured on Tourism4SDGs – A Global Initiative
Additionally, The CAS Project Challenge has officially been published on the Tourism4SDGs platform, an initiative by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism),
developed with the support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism as
a driver for development. This recognition on the prestigious platform highlights the significant role that the CPC plays in fostering global citizenship and advancing the Sustainable
Development Goals through educational travel and student-led initiatives.
