Pleasant Holidays and Journese announce addition of historic landmark Grand Hotel Mackinac Island, Michigan

The 388-room Grand Hotel Mackinac Island has been a Midwest-favorite summer retreat since its establishment in 1887.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, announced the addition of Grand Hotel Mackinac Island to their United States travel portfolios, becoming the only Tour Operators to offer the iconic hotel. The addition of this one-of-a-kind resort marks the continued growth of the brands’ North America portfolios, which now total more than 1,100 hotels and resorts in the United States and Canada.

“This National Historic Landmark hotel is stately and ornate, steeped in history and a great addition to our hotel portfolio,” said Jack E. Richards, President and CEO. “Each visit begins with a horse-drawn carriage ride to the hotel and features wholesome relaxation, outdoor recreation and genuine hospitality.”

The 388-room Grand Hotel Mackinac Island has been a Midwest-favorite summer retreat since its establishment in 1887. Pleasant Holidays and Journese both offer instant reservations and online bookings for the 2023 season at the hotel, which operates each year from May to October. Among its notable features is the world’s longest porch, where guests can relax on rocking chairs and watch island life unfold before them. The hotel also features afternoon tea in the lobby, golf on The Jewel course or drinks with a panoramic view at the Cupola Bar.

Located in Lake Huron between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas, Mackinac Island allows no cars, and locals and visitors make their way around the island by foot, bike or horse. The island is accessible by air and passenger ferryboat from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace. Mackinac Island is the location of Michigan governor’s summer residence and famous for its eponymous fudge. Grand Hotel Mackinac Island is also the setting of the 1980 film “Somewhere in Time” starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.

Book Grand Hotel Mackinac Island as part of a complete vacation package including hotel accommodations, flights, Hertz Car Rentals, travel protection coverage with Cancel-for-Any-Reason options and up to 100% commission protection, and much more at PleasantAgent.com or Journese.com.
