Robinson and TUI Magic Life offer a digital opt-out service for room cleaning via app. The service has already been successfully introduced in 36 out of 40 clubs.
With the introduction of the digital opt-out service for room cleaning, the club brands Robinson and TUI Magic Life demonstrate how hotel operations and environmental awareness can go hand in hand. Both brands rely on the active participation of their guests, who can easily and conveniently opt out of daily room cleaning during their stay via the brands’ apps, thus making an active contribution to environmental protection.
After a short pilot phase, the results are already promising: Across all participating Robinson and TUI Magic Life clubs, more than 9,500 room cleaning services have been cancelled via the app. As a result, this additional digital service alone has saved around 191,000 litres of water and a significant amount of detergent, with an average of 20 litres of water and around 25 millilitres of detergent saved per room cleaning.
Since August 2024, the digital opt-out service has been successfully offered in 36 out of 40 Robinson and TUI Magic Life clubs, which is another important step for the company in conserving resources. The remaining four clubs will integrate the service into their hotel operations by the end of the year.
“Our goal is not only to offer our guests a unique holiday experience, but also to give them the opportunity to actively conserve resources through conscious choices. With the digital opt-out service, we are setting an important precedent for the future and demonstrating that comfort and sustainability do not have to be mutually exclusive,” says Bernd Mäser, Managing Director of Robinson and TUI Magic Life.
