Travelex launches new redesigned app for the Travelex Money Card, powered by Mastercard

Travelex launches a new, user-friendly Travelex Money Card app offering enhanced navigation, real-time balance updates, and security features like face and touch ID.

Travelex, a market leading foreign exchange brand, has launched a new Travelex Money Card (TMC) app that offers a more simple, efficient and secure experience for customers worldwide.

The new app, which has been developed from scratch and replaces the old TMC app, has been redesigned with simpler navigation and reduced complexity in mind. Real time wallet balances and latest transactions are now instantly available on the homepage, while currency transfers and TMC top ups can be undertaken more easily than before. The app will also offer greater stability and reliability compared to its predecessor.

The app is the primary channel of choice for TMC customers, with 250k Travelex customers regularly using a TMC and 80% of them using the app to manage their card. To access the new app, existing customers simply need to download the latest update.

The app enables customers to fully manage key aspects of their prepaid Travelex Money Card. This includes the ability to top up their TMC with up to 22 different currencies, check their transaction history and balance, and freeze and unfreeze their card for instant protection. Customers are also able to view their card details, including their PIN code, through the app.

The app also enables customers to check live exchange rates and add their card to Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets. The app is secured with face and touch ID login options, and offers 24/7 dedicated phone assistance and support.

Beyond the TMC, the app also enables customers to order foreign currency cash for delivery to their home or for collection from a Travelex store (in the UK) or to collect it from a Travelex or Travelex partner store (in Australia).

The launch of the new app marks the latest milestone in Travelex’s digital transformation journey, which has seen increased investment into and development of digital infrastructure and products. Last year Travelex introduced an industry-first automated, self-service digital kiosk at London Heathrow, which followed the launch of the retail FX industry’s first ever ATM click-and-collect product. Travelex has also been investing in new digital, self-serve concept stores across its international portfolio, as well as upgrading its backend and cloud digital infrastructure.
