1. How to Access ___

Getting to Cyprus is easier than ever. More than 40 airlines, including Cyprus Airways, the island’s national carrier, operate scheduled flights from and to Larnaka International Airport and Pafos International Airport.

As the crossroads of the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus can also be a great component of a Middle East odyssey that combines a visit to the island with Israel, Egypt or nearby Greek islands such as Rhodes. Short cruises to these destinations are a popular option for many visitors to Cyprus. In 2000, more than six cruise liners took passengers on nearly 800 two-and-three-day cruises, departing from Lemesos.

Airports
Visitors arriving in Cyprus by air may enter the Republic only through the International Airports of Larnaka and Pafos.

More than 39 Airlines, including Cyprus Airways, the island’s national carrier, operate scheduled flights from and to Larnaka International Airport (5 km from Larnaka town centre), and Pafos International Airport (15 km east of Pafos town). Direct flights connect Cyprus with all major cities of Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and some major cities of North Africa, charter flights connect Cyprus with the Scandinavian countries, while easy connections can be made through gateways all over the world.

Ports
As the easternmost island in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is a natural port of call for ships cruising the Mediterranean, especially the Eastern, as well as a gateway to the splendours of ancient Egypt, major attractions in Israel and Lebanon and, of course, the Greek islands.

Cyprus has two international ports; Lemesos Port is the main one and can safely accommodate even the largest passenger cruise vessels with no draught limitation. Larnaka Port situated at a distance of 5km from the Larnaka International Airport. Both ports have relatively large and modern passenger terminal buildings and provide a full range of services and facilities for inward and outward passengers in addition to customs and immigration facilities.

Marinas, Yacht Harbours and Shelters
Apart from Larnaka Marina and St. Raphael Marina mentioned here below, there are also a number of ports and fishing shelters in Cyprus.

Larnaka Marina, an official Port of Entry, lies 110 nautical miles from Beirut and Tripoli, 145 n.m. from Tel-Aviv, 230 n.m. from Port–Said and 250 n.m. from Rhodes. The position of the Marina is 34 deg. 55 min. North – 33 deg. 38 min. East and has berthing facilities for 450 yachts of various sizes.

Access to the Marina is controlled and limited to yacht owners and crews. All yachts moored in the Marina may use all facilities and services available at a reasonable charge.

St Raphael Marina, Lemesos, located at longitude 33 deg. 11 min. latitude 34deg. 42min., is a very special feature of the Resort, ideal for motor and sailing yacht enthusiasts..

The space available for each yacht is fully supported by a Mediterranean type mooring system for stern Mooring. There are 227 berths accommodating boats up to 30m LOA and 4m draught. Yachts are berthed to 3 concrete piers with all facilities.

There is 24-hour security with guards patrolling both Marina grounds for the safety of their guests.

Note: All ports of entry in the part of the Republic illegally occupied by the Turkish invasion forces, have been declared by the Government of Cyprus as prohibited ports of entry and exit, and no visitor should enter or leave the Republic through these ports.
