Air Greece hires CAA director

Greece's first major scheduled private carrier, Air Greece<.>, appointed Dionysis Kalofonos, as its general manager. Kostas Badouvas, until recently chairman and managing director, continues as the airline's chairman. Mr. Kalofonos, a former director of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of the European Civil Aviation Committee, is noted for his strong economic background.
Air Greece said his appointment helps to cover needs created by the rapid expansion of the airline at home and abroad. Since inaugurated in 1994, Air Greece quickly expanded its routes until it now covers all major Greek tourism destinations (Athens, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos) as well as a good number of routes to German cities.
