Three educational cruise seminars during THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) will be conducted by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and Niche Cruise Marketing Alliance (NMCA) in Orlando, Sept. 10-12, 2006. The exclusive cruise learning seminars will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10 and are comprised of: Cruising: Knowing the World you Sell offered by CLIA, Niche Cruise Specialist Certification Program and How to Tap into the Lucrative Niche Cruise Market –Panel presented by NMCA.

Cruising: Knowing the World you Sell will educate travel professionals on well-known and exotic cruise destinations to recommend to clients. The Niche Cruise Specialist Certification Program seminar will provide instructions on selling niche cruise products and targeting markets. How to Tap into the Lucrative Niche Cruise Market – Panel will feature executives from a number of niche cruise companies who will describe opportunity, product variety and how agents can successfully represent these products.

The Niche Cruise Marketing Alliance is inviting all travel agents to attend a special certification program that will present opportunities and tips on how to profit from the selling of specialty cruise products, said NMCA Executive Director Larry Dessler. Travel agents who attend the program will earn their ‘Niche Cruise Specialist’ certification and receive over $600 in bonus commission certificates, a new binder-based sales guide, listing on the organization’s Web site and an eligibility for special FAM and bonus programs.

The cruise seminars presented at THETRADESHOW will offer educational insight that will help enhance attendees’ everyday work experience in the cruise industry, said ASTA Executive Vice President and COO Bill Maloney, CTC. CLIA and NMCA are strong industry companies and THETRADESHOW partners are enthusiastic for them to step on board and inform 2006 attendees.

Travel agents attending THETRADESHOW will have the unique opportunity to attend ‘Cruising: Knowing the World you Sell’ seminar and gain credits towards their ACC, MCC or ECC accreditation, said President and CEO of CLIA Terry L. Dale. CLIA believes that cruise education is important because the cruise industry will be front and center at the event given the cruise industry`s strong growth record and the importance of cruise sales for agents.

THETRADESHOW will take place the second week of September every year and will be held in Orlando (Sept. 10-12, 2006) in even years and Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007) in odd years. THETRADESHOW will host more than 3,000 travel sellers and 1,000 consumers in just three days at one site. Formed from the partnership of the leading travel associations, THETRADESHOW will include two full days of open floor trade show, business-to-business appointments, a trade and consumer day (Sunday) and two trade only days (Monday and Tuesday). Travel sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and to learn in-depth about their products.
