ATLANTA (August 31, 2004) InterContinental Hotels Group announced that the future 146-room Holiday Inn Express-Tampa Airport, recently broke ground, representing another addition to the mid-scale brand`s portfolio of limited-service hotels.
The Holiday Inn Express-Tampa Airport will be owned by Tampa Hotel, LLC, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Holiday Inn Express hotels are designed to be the smart choice for value-conscious business and leisure travelers, said Jenifer Zeigler, senior vice president, brand management, Holiday Inn Express. Development of the Holiday Inn Express hotel in the Tampa Airport area is important in expanding our consumer base and establishing a strong presence in prime tourist locations.
Situated at Tampa Airport, the future 98,000 sq.-ft. hotel will feature standard Holiday Inn Express guest room accommodations including comfortable queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, cable television, long-distance access, hairdryer, coffee machine, non-stick iron and ironing board. For those travelers with business needs, guestrooms also provide large desks with ergonomic chairs, data ports, two phones with private voicemail, complimentary high-speed Internet access and complimentary USA Today newspapers. Additionally, the property is just minutes from area shopping, restaurants and attractions such as Bush Gardens.
More than $22 million has been invested to build this property into a Holiday Inn Express and we are excited about the end result, said Ron Asmar, general manager. Tampa is a well-traveled market for tourism and a perfect fit for the Holiday Inn Express product.
