Hotel Equities promotes Jack Meakin to Business Development Coordinator

Firm’s long-standing commitment to developing talent remains a top priority.

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) announced that recent Manager in Training (MIT) graduate, Jack Meakin, has earned a promotion to business development coordinator. The announcement further affirms Hotel Equities’ ongoing commitment to investing in their talent and infrastructure while growing the company. In his new position, Jack plays a vital role in owner relations, adding value for the firm’s partners through enhanced communications and data-driven recommendations. He is based at HE’s headquarters in Atlanta, GA and reports directly to Joe Reardon, chief development officer.

Brad Rahinsky, HE’s president and CEO, regards the infrastructure expansions as mission critical to the company’s success. “Adding the right individuals, like Jack, to key roles improves our output and deliverables to stakeholders,” said Brad. “That kind of performance-driven growth model, when done correctly, continuously feeds itself.”

“I am proud to welcome Jack to the business development team,” said Joe Reardon, CDO. “His commitment to gaining valuable experience throughout the MIT program will benefit him in this new capacity and further as he continues his progression within the firm. Jack’s understanding and desire to exceed the expectations of our stakeholders will give us a valuable competitive advantage. We’re excited to see his continued growth in this new role.”

Jack initially developed a passion for hospitality working as a whitewater raft guide where he enjoyed creating memorable adventures for guests. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with his degree in Hospitality Management, he joined Hotel Equities as an associate of the MIT program in 2018.

During the program, Jack worked at the Residence Inn by Marriott-Atlanta-Perimeter Center/Dunwoody, GA where he gained critical hands-on experience working in all areas of hotel operations, including hotel transitions. He also had the opportunity to engage with senior leadership at the corporate level where he gained valuable insight into managing revenues for a multi-branded portfolio of hotels.

“The time I spent during MIT learning from subject matter experts was invaluable,” said Jack. “I am so grateful for the mentorships I received through the program. They prepared me with the experience and confidence I needed to best serve in my new role.”

Jack is one of many examples of why Hotel Equities believes developing their associates is a worthwhile investment. The Manager in Training program is fairly new at three years old and has produced three alumni classes, with a fourth class beginning this summer.

“We hire recent college grads and put them through the program to prepare them to become managers,” said Nancy Curtin Morris, HE’s VP of learning and people development. “Incorporating people development into Hotel Equities’ business model was Fred’s vision [Fred Cerrone is founder and chairman of HE]. He has a passion for developing others and it’s been my honor to help turn his vision into reality by developing training curriculum to spur growth for hard-working individuals. Jack is a great example of our company value statement; hire an attitude & teach them the business. He had the right attitude already and we equipped him with the tools and knowledge he needs to be successful. I look forward to seeing his continued growth.”
