Kuoni subsidiary railtour suisse has acquired a majority 67% shareholding in art-and-culture travel specialists ACS Reisen AG from the Swiss Automobile Club. The parties agreed not to divulge the purchase price.
Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd. is further strengthening its strategic alignment to the specialist travel business. Its acquisition of a majority shareholding in Bern-based ACS Reisen AG makes Kuoni subsidiary railtour suisse the Swiss market leader in the arts-and-culture travel sector. The ACS Reisen brand is well established among Swiss-based arts enthusiasts, and the company is the leading provider of summer festival, opera, concert and musical travel arrangements on the Swiss market.
ACS Reisen general manager David Frauch and his team will now relocate to railtour suisse`s premises in Bern`s Weissenbuhl district. The move should allow sizeable synergies to be exploited on the IT, infrastructure and communications fronts.
