Peter Pullem (43) has been appointed Managing Director of Lufthansa Worldshop GmbH in Frankfurt, effective 1 January 2007. The company bundles its activities in four areas – inflight sales, rewards, distance selling and advertising material – as well as market licences.
It is also responsible for distributing its products and awards through various channels: inflight shopping, mail order via the Worldshop catalogue and the company`s website worldshop and direct sales via the Worldshop outlets at Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin-Tegel airports.
Peter Pullem began his professional career in 1983, when he joined Lufthansa as an airline commercial trainee. On completion of the three-year programme, he held various positions in Passenger Sales. He subsequently moved to Product Management Passenger Services, where he was responsible for the Italy/Malta area and later for Eastern Europe. Simultaneously, he took a degree course in Business Administration, graduating in 1993.
The following year, having worked on the project team charged with reorganising the Lufthansa Group into individual business segments, Peter Pullem took charge of Passenger Logistics and Interlining/Sales Germany at Lufthansa. He was subsequently placed in charge of Global Distribution Channel Management at Lufthansa`s passenger airlines. In this position, he was also responsible for cooperation arrangements with global travel agency chains, tour operators and key accounts.
In January 2000 Peter Pullem was appointed Director of Sales at Thomas Cook AG, where he was responsible for the multi-channel distribution of Thomas Cook`s package holiday offers.
Peter Pullem was appointed to his present position, Vice President Sales for Germany, Europe and Africa at Lufthansa Cargo AG, in January 2004.
