Continental Airlines announced that it is the first airline to implement a new personal gift registry account for airline tickets. Customers interested in creating a personal gift account may sign up at a specific site and enter a gift account goal amount, requested travel destination and event information. Once a gift account is created, customers are able to send announcements to several friends and family members, with instructions on how deposits may be made into the account. Funds deposited in the gift account will go toward the purchase of air travel at the site on the carrier`s global network of flights to nearly 280 destinations worldwide.
With the popularity of gift registries and certificates, we saw a great opportunity to be the first airline to offer our customers an easy way to create a gift account for air travel, OnePass Programs Manager Victor Llana said.
