The second Accelerated Development Programme has been launched, designed to build the business leadership skills of participants, and prepare them for future positions as general managers, and regional managers.
Thirty managers from Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in the region were recently enrolled in the programme.
After attending a development centre for an assessment of competence, they undertake a self development plan with the support of a mentor, and attend a 40-day education programme with the Institut de Management Hotelier (IMHI) in Paris, a university affiliated to Cornell University in the US, and the Essec Business School in France.
With so many new hotels opening over the next two years, and many more in the pipeline, the Accelerated Development Programme can play an important part in helping us to meet our senior management needs, said Rosie Hobbs, area director of training and development for Bass Hotels & Resorts, which currently operates 110 Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties in the Middle East and Africa, with 25 under development.
We`re proud of our employment development record, take every opportunity to employ from within, and we`re creating excellent career opportunities in each of our brands.
