Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence celebrates its fifth anniversary on May 1, a significant milestone for the Toronto based luxury hotel group whose commitment to the Middle East now includes six properties.
The flagship 269 room property on the western banks of the River Nile, brought a new level of luxury and service to the Middle East, when it opened five years ago – and this level has since become a benchmark for the region`s hospitality industry.
Additionally, the Hotel has spawned a highly trained workforce which has in turn `fed` subsequent Four Seasons openings both in the region and elsewhere, helping its sister hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Amman, Riyadh, Cairo and more recently Doha. Soon more will be on the move as the group opens further hotels in Damascus, Alexandria, Beirut, Kuwait, Dubai and Marrakesh.
It has been a significant five years in terms of introducing and establishing a new hotel brand to a region already well patronised by the world`s leading chains, said Antoine Corinthios, President Four Seasons Europe, Middle East and Africa.
With the exception of 2001, we have opened at least one property a year since 2000 in the region, which is a considerable achievement. In 2005 alone, we add two further hotels to our portfolio – the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Doha and, in the third quarter, Four Seasons Hotel Damascus,he added.
In celebration of its fifth anniversary, the award winning Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence is planning a series of exclusive events during the month of May. This includes a special celebration for staff, said Doug Housley General Manager. Without the dedication and pride of our work force, we would not have achieved so many accolades from the world`s travel media over the past five years, he added. The Hotel was recently voted the Best Hotel in Egypt by Travel and Leisure magazine in their 2005 survey and ranked amongst the top 500 hotels and resorts worldwide in the same survey.
Commanding excellent views over the Nile to one side and the Pyramids to the other, the Hotel offers a range of exciting dining options including the recently opened Lai Thai restaurant which has already gained a reputation amongst Cairo`s diners as being one of the city`s finest for authentic Thai cuisine.
