Italy: three new Accor establishments where guests can enjoy La Dolce Vita

From Milan, the capital of fashion, to Lecce, the jewel of baroque architecture, Accor continues to expand in Italy with three new hotels: ibis Milano Malpensa Aeroporto, Mercure Milano Solari and the MGallery collection’s Patria Palace Lecce. As Europe’s leading hotelier, these openings reflect Accor’s drive to expand in this land steeped in history.

Milan, the beating heart of Lombardy
The capital of fashion and elegance now boasts two new establishments, ibis Milano Malpensa Aeroporto and  Mercure Milano Solari. Milan is Italy’s main economic and financial center and also boasts ancient treasures.

Mercure Milano Solari – ibis Milano Malpensa Aeroporto
ibis Milano Malpensa Aeroporto was inaugurated last October 11 and features 188 fully equipped rooms with a contemporary, zen style. Early risers can enjoy breakfast from 6.30am, including an array of Italian specialties: pancetta, parma ham, ricotta or mascarpone which accompany the traditional croissants, fruit and hot drinks. The chef of restaurant “Oopen” prepares authentic dishes in front of the clients who can also customize their dishes.

Mercure Milano Solari, is located a few minutes from the city’s historical center, close to the Duomo gothic cathedral and the Vittorio Emanuele gallery with its array of cafes, bars, book stores and fashion boutiques. This elegant and modern hotel welcomes business and leisure travellers and features 59 rooms. Some rooms have balconies, while guests staying in the Suite can enjoy breakfast served on the private terrace. Food lovers will enjoy the hotel’s regional culinary specialties and the new Grands Vins Mercure wine list.

Patria Palace Lecce joins the MGallery collection
The hotel has given the aristocratic 18th century Palazzo D’Anna Petrarolo a second wind. Located in the center of the exuberant baroque city of Lecce, opposite the impressive Santa Croce Basilica, the building has been restored with meticulous care by artists and craftsmen and features sumptuous frescoes and an Art Deco interior. The hotel’s 67 rooms are all different, decorated with murals by designer John Duggan and have breathtaking views of the basilica’s rose window.

“Atenze”, the hotel’s elegant and sophisticated restaurant, is renowned for its excellent Mediterranean and local cuisine and is considered one of the best in the region. The hotel also has five meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology that can cater for 8 to 140 people.

With a range of 61 hotels, there is something in Italy to suit every guest’s taste from Rome to Milan, Naples to Florence, for weekend trips or longer stays.
