Business opportunities at IMEX 2009 are set to grow due to a further increase in the number of hosted buyers attending from across the world; an increase in the length of time they will spend on the show floor and an expansion in the numbers attending from the vitally important German outbound meetings market.
"These outcomes are the result of IMEX’s long-term strategy to build and extend our network of global and European intermediary partners who invite hosted buyers to the show. New buyer groups are due to travel from Asia, the US, Australia, Russia, Chile, Dubai, Europe and South Africa. Consequently, we confidently expect more than 3,700 hosted buyers to attend from almost 60 world markets", said Chairman, Ray Bloom.
"Last year more than 12% of all buyers attending IMEX represented the powerful association market. This sector remains one of the least affected by the global economic outlook and, as our latest Association Research shows, planners on the whole are confident about the future, expressing a range of “positives” including belief in their own expertise, trouble-shooting skills and negotiating ability, plus expanding membership and programmes.
Once again, the IMEX Association Day and Evening will deliver an outstanding educational programme and an opportunity for exhibitors to network with hundreds of association buyers prior to the opening of the show."
