TheTrainline, the UK`s leading rail ticket retailer, has unveiled a brand new season ticket fulfilment option for corporate customers, making it quicker for staff to purchase season tickets through one central point, and cheaper for corporates, eliminating the need to deal with a variety of train operating companies and raise multiple cheques.

From today, annual, monthly and weekly tickets for all train operating companies in the UK, including London Underground, can be purchased online through TheTrainline.

Officially unveiled at the Business Travel Show 2004 at Olympia (Feb 3rd-5th), the new online offer for corporates is the first phase of a roll-out which will soon be extended to leisure customers and SMEs via www.thetrainline.com.

The proposition delivers significant benefits for both corporates and their employees Corporates can now access real-time information, allowing more effective budget monitoring and efficient travel spend. All transactions will be handled by TheTrainline, with one weekly payment eliminating the need to raise and issue separate cheques for each member of staff. Employees have their tickets delivered to their desk, with no need to queue at train stations or fill in forms at the office.

Dan Hart, head of sales at TheTrainline, says: We are always striving to find ways to assist our business customers, and are delighted to be able to offer a more streamlined and efficient way of purchasing corporate rail travel. Prior to this service, there was a clear gap in the market in that the only options available were via train stations and call centres. We are very much looking forward to rolling out the product for all our customers during 2004.

The new season ticket fulfilment option has been devised and formatted by a dedicated corporate team at TheTrainline, incorporating David and Diane Shaw, who joined TheTrainline in 2003 from Network Business Travel Service bringing with them a wealth of experience in the season ticket market. Diane explains: Working at TheTrainline has allowed us to develop an innovative product incorporating online pricing, ordering, loan administrators authorisation, refund calculations and much more – a product that we clearly identified as lacking in the market during our time spent in this field.
