Visit London sweeps the board at the MIMA awards

Visit London cleaned up at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) held at The Science Museum in London on Monday 15 October, winning gold for best CD-ROM/DVD, bronze for best destination brochure, and bronze for best brand marketing campaign.



Severine Ougier, Business Marketing Manager, Visit London said: “We are delighted to have won so many awards, especially against some strong competition. It is always good to have your hard work recognised and to highlight all that Visit London does to promote the capital.”



Visit London beat off competition from finalists including Zagreb Tourist Board and Kempinski Hotel Budapest to win the coveted award for best CD–ROM and DVD.



“Our DVD promotes London as one of the best cities for events, conferences and meetings. It was launched at the MPI PEC-E 07 conference in Copenhagen to a key target audience of meeting/event planners and suppliers, and received a great response,” said Severine.



Visit London’s destination brochure, the Westminster Destination Guide, introduces event planners to the wide portfolio of Westminster’s venues and facilities. Visit London partnered with Westminster City Council and The Westminster Collection on this project to run an innovative marketing initiative promoting the City of Westminster’s business and leisure offering.



“We are also delighted to have won bronze for best brand marketing,” commented Severine. “Our integrated marketing strategy has been recognised within the industry as an impactful brand recognition exercise, highlighting to the marketplace that London’s business tourism industry is united and speaks with one voice,” she added.
