A leading walking tour specialist has just introduced ‘Walk and Talk’ holidays offering Spanish language lessons in conjunction with a walking holiday. Waymark Holidays has introduced the language learning holidays in response to demand from clients to further enrich their trips.
“We’re finding people not only want to walk in beautiful areas, but they want to learn about the way of life and culture in that area, and this is the ideal combination,” said managing director Neil Saunders.
The days start with classroom lessons before heading out into the village to practice buying food at the market for the day’s picnic. The afternoon is then spent walking through a variety of habitats discussing the flora and fauna. In addition, some evening meals are taken in local restaurants to further immerse clients in village life.
The tours have one leader/teacher for every four clients, and each are trained teachers who have lived in Spain for decades, and can cater to a variety of language levels. The holidays are based within the Grazalema National Park, renowned for its wealth of natural beauty and rich variety of flora and fauna.
