Largest Latin American corporate travel conference grows 20 percent

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) and the Brazilian Business Travel Association (ABGEV) welcomed more than 800 attendees to this week’s Latin American Corporate Travel & Technology Exchange (LACTTE) in São Paulo, Brazil.

LACTTE, the leading corporate travel event in Latin America, draws attendees from Brazil, the United States, and throughout Latin America. The event, now in its third year, has grown each year, and the number of attendees at LACTTE 2008 is 20 percent greater than last year.

NBTA President & CEO, Kevin Maguire, CCTE, said, “The growth of LACTTE demonstrates the quality of the event as well as the growing importance of travel management in Latin America. In each education session, in every discussion at the Trade & Technology Exchange Showcase, we hear about the travel-related challenges companies are facing here and about the managed travel solutions they are developing to address those challenges.”

ABGEV President, Viviânne Martins, said, “I am so pleased that LACTTE has grown every year, and I applaud those professionals who have taken time out of their schedules to take advantage of the best networking and education opportunities available in this market.”

Discussions are focused on important travel management topics such as payment solutions, online booking, and service level agreements. Attendees are actively engaged in the 15 educational sessions being offered. They are interacting with more than 25 companies exhibiting in the major sponsors’ area or the Trade & Technology Exchange Showcase. They are hearing from industry and thought leaders in four general sessions, and they are networking with each other at evening events. The entire program is designed to facilitate the advancement of the growing Latin American corporate travel industry.
