Magazine presents the best of Britain for international business

Meeting, incentive and conference organisers will be further encouraged to book Britain as a business destination…

Meeting, incentive and conference organisers will be further encouraged to book Britain as a business destination  in the 2005 edition of MeetBritain published by VisitBritain – the authority for tourism in Britain.

Nearly seven million international visitors come to Britain every year on a business trip and spend £3.4 billion. The publication will further boost Britain’s place as one of the top three countries in the world for international meetings according to the International Conference and Congress Association (ICCA)*.

A free 52-page publication, MeetBritain showcases the best of Britain to meetings, incentives, conference and exhibition organisers around the world. VisitBritain’s network of offices in 31 countries will distribute 30,000 copies to key decision-makers in leading incentives houses and international associations and at international business tourism events like EIBTM and IMEX.

Packed with tips and inspiring ideas, the magazine reflects Britain’s dynamic, contemporary reputation and the rich variety of its unique heritage and culture. Articles in the latest issue include features on corporate hospitality at quintessentially British cultural and sporting events, incentive programmes in Scotland and London and high-adrenaline experiences to unwind after meetings.

As 40 per cent of business travellers return with their families as leisure visitors, the magazine highlights opportunities to experience the best that Britain has to offer. Alongside the latest developments and new venues, there are articles on the best places to enjoy a round of golf, sourcing the perfect venue and a profile on Barbara Cassani, vice-chairman of London’s Olympic bid.

Jeremy Brinkworth, VisitBritain’s Head of Business Tourism, said:

“Britain is already a popular destination. Our culture and the quality and variety of our venues, coupled with high service standards and accessibility are particularly appealing. MeetBritain will spearhead VisitBritain’s drive to get even more business event organisers considering Britain as their first choice destination. With business visitors spending on average twice as much per day as leisure visitors, our work to maintain Britain’s position as a world-class destination is an essential part of our portfolio of marketing activities.”
