The trade show EIBTM<.> is carrying this year a very specific attention due to the transition period in which the tourism industry finds itself. After the November 11th shock the industry is starting to recover, new strategic orientations have emerged and the internet related industry has been restructured. In this time of restructuration of the tourism industry coupled with the venue of the EIBTM trade show, WATA<.> is eager to seize this opportunity to launch its e-business platform.

The World Association of Travel Agencies, WATA was created by 8 independent travel agents from France, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland for the benefit of all travel agencies around the world. The goal was to improve and rationalize the organization of international tourism. It helps locally respected agencies combine their personal touch with the influence gained by global recognition. Since its foundation in May 5, 1949, WATA has become a truly well-respected name in the travel industry worldwide. Sticking to its tradition of leading tourism association, WATA wants to optimize its worldwide services for the benefit of its existing members, of the new comers, of the buyers, as well as of the tourism associations worldwide. Together with its consultant partners Athoms and its technology provider Advences, WATA has developed a complete and comprehensive e-Business strategy. The goals and objectives of the presence of WATA on the internet are to increase the sales for the members; to increase number of subscribers; to federate new sub-associations members, to increase brand diffusion and recognition towards selected users; to facilitate the business for WATA members; and to become the leading tourism association in terms of E-business capability offered to its members and partners.



WATA is launching a Business to Business website to give the opportunity to any travel agent or buyers worldwide to benefit from the services offered on the internet, to reduce their operating costs and to obtain best prices.



Betting on a very easy to use website, based on very advanced technology with relevant information for the trade, the site www.wata.net will rapidly become the tourism industry rendez vous to get information, reliable products and providers and best prices.



The goals of WATA today are: to increase business for the members; to increase the visibility of members `products; to offer a global access to the new technologies; to remain close to the market trends; to maintain a market strength; to remain close to the customers; to generate new partnerships, such as those already built with ASI and MOA.
