Hyatt Regency Boston has announced a renovation of the hotel that will be completed by March 31, 2005. All guest rooms and corridors of this four-star, four-diamond hotel will be renovated. Earlier this year, the hotel`s public & meeting space was redone, along with the addition of the Nantucket Room, 1,900 square feet that can accommodate 200 people.

We`ve been working hard to increase visitors to the neighborhood who will contribute to the local economy, said David Nadelman, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Boston. We`ve seen an 18% increase in occupancy in the past year. The location of the hotel and the services that we offer are desirable to both leisure and business travelers. The renovation will make the hotel even more desirable to travelers, as shown by the growth in occupancy we continue to see.

The 500 guest-rooms are divided among four atriums within the building. The aesthetic transformation will take place one atrium at a time so that guests are not disrupted during the renovation process.

The former Swissotel, re-flagged as Hyatt Regency Boston in July, 2003, is another rung in the development of the Ladder District. Located in the Downtown Crossing area of Boston, in the last twenty-four months, the Ladder District has welcomed several dynamic, upscale restaurants and recreation facilities, as well the newly restored landmark Opera House.

In addition to upscale nightlife and proximity to Boston`s important financial institutions, Hyatt guests are near prime shopping destinations such Filene`s Basement, H&M and Macy`s and are just steps from the Boston Common. The area has also become a critical stop in the new MBTA Silver Line transportation system that runs at its center.
