Canadian airline carrier Air Canada<.> is struggling with high fuel prices and expected to announce quarter losses. In an announcement dispatched last week, the Canadian carrier said that its most recent forecast was in line with an earlier warning given in December, 2001. It also noted that earnings for the period in question would be under tremendous pressure. At the same time, some Air Canada said it would cut 3,500 jobs, or 8 per cent of its workforce by the end of this year.
