BBC World has been appointed `Official Broadcast Partner` for Dubai 2005, the ninth international aerospace exhibition, being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, next year.
The agreement follows a successful initial alliance between the Dubai air show and the BBC`s commercially funded 24-hour international news and information channel in 2003, when the exhibition was last staged.
During Dubai 2003, the opportunities generated by BBC World literally took the air show onto a global platform, said Clive Richardson, Chief Executive, Aerospace Group, Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E), which organises the show. We have patently recognised the value of the partnership and believe BBC World has also understood the advantages of a presence at one of the most important industry events for the Middle East and the global aerospace industry.
The arrangement presents both parties with substantial marketing opportunities. Dubai 2005 will be associated with BBC World in print advertising and on point-of-view material, and will also receive banner advertisements on the channel`s website, bbcworld.com. In return, BBC World will be aired on large monitors both inside and outside Dubai 2005.
BBC World is the key English-language television broadcaster for the Arab world and our involvement in Dubai 2005 reflects our commitment to the region, says John Williams, Account Manager, BBC World. Already this year we have launched the weekly Middle East Business Report, begun screening blocks of our programming to passengers on Gulf Air flights, and been presented in Dubai with the prestigious Zayed International Prize for the Environment.
Dubai 2005 is being organised by F&E in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.
