Three of the Gulf Air`s Boeing 767 fleet are back in service and two more will return to schedule in the coming week as the company stated. The remaining four aircraft, awaiting slot allocation for planned maintenance checks, will gradually re-enter service.

The B767s were taken out of service by Gulf Air to conduct a thorough check, following the detection of traces of corrosion in one of them during a planned maintenance inspection. Aircraft inspected and repaired, according to rules and recommendations and following consultation with Boeing, are being released by maintenance provider SR Technics to Gulf Air for commercial operation.

Every effort has been taken to minimise disruption to the network service over the last 10 days by rescheduling Gulf Air’s fleet. While we regret the inconvenience caused to passengers as a result of our decision, I hope that everyone understands and appreciates that safety is of paramount importance at Gulf Air, Gulf Air`s representative said.
