Out of Africa comes a new city link to Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore now has a direct air link to Zimbabwe with the launch of a twice weekly non-stop service between Changi Airport and the Zimbabwean capital city of Harare

Singapore now has a direct air link to Zimbabwe with the launch of a twice weekly non-stop service between Changi Airport and the Zimbabwean capital city of Harare by Air Zimbabwe. The maiden flight arrived at Changi Airport on 22 November 2004.

Air Zimbabwe’s flights from Harare arrive in Singapore every Tuesday and Saturday, and will continue on to Beijing. The return flight to Harare departs Singapore every Wednesday and Sunday.

Commenting on the arrival of Air Zimbabwe, Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore Mr Wong Woon Liong said, Air Zimbabwe’s service to Changi Airport represents a new connection between Zimbabwe and Singapore and will open up new opportunities for tourism and trade between the two countries. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Air Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is home to the world-famous Victoria Falls, a World Heritage Site, and many wildlife reserves.

The new non-stop service between Singapore and Harare adds a new city link to Changi Airport’s network. Changi Airport is now connected to four cities in continental Africa, namely Harare, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Cairo.

Including Air Zimbabwe, Changi Airport has welcomed eight new airlines since the start of the year. Changi Airport is now served by 74 airlines, connecting travellers to over 170 cities around the world.
