AIME seeks new exhibition manager

Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) is seeking a new Exhibition Manager to take AIME<.> 2002

Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) is seeking a new Exhibition Manager to take AIME<.> 2002 – the AsiaPacific Incentive and Meetings Expo – into the next chapter of expansion.

The news follows the departure of Gabrielle Stephens who has been praised for her major work to establish AIME at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, as the most important industry event of its kind in the region.

Debbie Jackson, Reed Travel Exhibition's Group MICE Director said: "Gabrielle Stephens has made a significant contribution to how the industry views and conducts business in the region and has ensured that the future growth and success of the event is secured.

"In the five years that she has been with AIME, Gabrielle has seen a substantial increase in not only the number of exhibitors and countries participating but also the volume of visitors."

The ninth AIME in February this year attracted 2,404 visitors and 304 Hosted Buyers, an overall increase of 13 per cent with a record 613 exhibitors from 62 international destinations.

Jackson continued: "I will now be seeking an Exhibition Manager with clear vision, innovation, enterprise and first class management skills that will help AIME and the meetings and incentive industry to go forward for what is promising to be an exciting and dynamic time.

"Competition is hotting up among cities and destinations in Asia Pacific to attract new international events, conferences and meetings, as more regional government recognises the economic benefits of the industry.

"The prospects for the industry are very promising here and AIME needs to spearhead that advancement."

"I have greatly enjoyed my time with AIME and have made many friends in the industry," said Gabrielle Stephens.

"I appreciate the support I have received and will do everything possible to ensure that the transition goes smoothly.

"Undoubtedly AIME will help to lead the industry into a new and promising era of development. In the years ahead, we need an industry approach to win substantial international events and AIME will play a vital focus in those opportunities and challenges."

The tenth AIME takes place on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 February 2002.
