All eyes will be on the Athens 2004 Olympics at this year’s
Organised by the Hellenic News publication, the event will be staged in New York’s Jacobs Javits Centre on May 15-16 and at Chicago’s Navy Pier on May 20-21.
Greek jewellery and handicrafts, its lesser known regions and islands will be promoted along with Cypriot culture, tourism, products and services, technology and other economic strengths. The Expo is also intended to attract US investment in Greece and Cyprus.
Expo chairman Pavlos Kotrotsios said he expected this year’s exhibitor participation to be the highest ever, underlining its enhanced professionalism in that the 8th and 9th Hermes events will be held at convention centres.
More than 200 exhibitors are likely to take part, many of them travelling from Greece, Cyprus and other eastern European countries to show what they have to offer. Also making an appearance will be a large number of US firms specialising in goods targeting the significant and ever-expanding Greek-American market.
